Independent party member Jennifer Siebel Newsom is the First Partner of California. She assumed her role on 7th January 2019 which was preceded by Anne Gust Brown. From, 10th January 2011 till 7th January 2019 she was the Second Lady of California and before that, she was the First Lady of San Francisco. Jennifer has also acted in films and directed documentaries.
Miss Representation which was released in 2011 was one of the milestones of Newsom and the same film was premiered at Sundance Film Festival. The film also featured in various other film festivals such as Athena Film Festival along with San Francisco International Film Festival.
The Representation Project whose main aim is to eliminate gender stereotypes from the society was co-founded by Jennifer.Jan Yanehiro and Nathan Ballard along with Susie McCormick, and Maureen Pelton are the boards members of the organisation. She married Gavin Newsom in 2008 who is the Governor of California and is a mother of 4 children. After her marriage, the First Lady title was renamed as First Partner.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s Personal Life
Jennifer is the daughter of an an investment manager, Kenneth F. Siebel and Judy Siebel who is one of the founders of Bay Area Discovery Museum. The museum is situated in Sausalito, California. Jennifer first attended Ross Grammar School and later The Branson School.
Jennifer loved participating in various extracurricular activities. She was a part of varsity basketball team along with soccer and tennis team. She is the former student of Stanford University where she completed her graduation in Bachelor of Arts. She has master degree in Business Administration along with a certificate in one of the programs of Conservatory Theater. After the completion of her education, she travelled to various places for assignments with Conservation International which is a global environmental coalition.
